Topic Title: Improving transparency, efficiency and safety in the hospital logistics, assets and medical products management processes: the path of the San Raffaele Hospital

Topic Abstract:

The speech to be held by IRCCS Hospital San Raffaele and Antares Vision professionals, will present an innovative project/platform aimed at achieving many benefits as mentioned hereby, leveraging the GS1 standards in healthcare traceability, as well as the new emerging GS1-Digital Link and GDSN. This ambitious project is endorsed and supported by MISE – Italian Minister of Economic Development and has been drafted with the cooperation of several hospitals and clinics in Italy and overseas.

  • Enabling healthcare operators to focus on patient care relieving them from the repetitive task of searching, sorting, picking drugs to administrate to patients

  • Maintaining full end-to-end traceability of the medication and medical devices process to eliminate dispensing errors, diversions, non-compliance, inventory stockout and waste

  • Creating a zero-error, efficient, fully automated environment, 100% integrated with EHR and hospitals’ IT infrastructure and fully synchronized with their suppliers.

  • Delivering full visibility and insights to hospital staff for more informed and faster decisions and reaching the ultimate objective of delivering the right dose, to the right patient, at the right time.
